Aftózní zánět dutiny ústní - recidivující afty

Postižení sliznice dutiny ústní jsou poměrně častá. Mají nejrůznější etiologii a rozdílnou prognózu. Mezi nejčastější záněty dutiny ústní patří recidivující afty. Postihují asi 20 % obyvatelstva. Etiologie vzniku aft není objasněna. Nejde o přenosnou chorobu, pacienty ani neohrožuje na životě. Léčba je převážně lokální, zaměřená na odstranění bolestivosti aft. Afty se dělí na afty velké (stomatitis aphtosa major) a afty malé (stomatitis aphtosa minor). Postihuje mladé jedince i dospělé osoby. Diagnózu by měl ověřit zubní lékař, aby afty nebyly zaměněny za jinou, někdy i závažnou chorobu.
