Medicinal products and dietary supplements affecting unfavorable symptoms of climacterium

The climacteric period is accompanied by numerous symptoms that negatively affect women's quality of life and often lead tovisit to a health care professional. In a physician's office or in a pharmacy, it is important to choose an appropriate therapeuticstrategy based on an individual assessment of the pharmacotherapy risk and benefit. Nowadays, there is a wide spectrum ofdrugs that can be used for the climacteric symptoms. The aim of the article was to show the therapeutic options that influencethe climacteric symptoms including prescribed drugs and over-the-counter drugs. Furthermore, the article contains a review offood supplements and their possible use in climacterium.
