Co je dobré vědět o výživě onkologicky nemocných

Výživa onkologicky nemocného se řídí obecným principem dostatečného přívodu proteinů, sacharidů i lipidů v závislosti na individuální snášenlivosti. Jedním z projevů onkologicky transformované buňky je zvýšená tvorba cytokinů. Patofyziologie metabolických cest i tvorba cytokinů jsou společně s vedlejšími účinky vlastní léčby onkologického onemocnění příčinou nežádoucích doprovodných projevů, které mohou vyústit do různého stupně malnutrice. Nejčastěji se jedná o změny chuti, pocit suchosti v ústech, bolesti v ústech i při polykání, může být přítomná nauzea, diarhea, obstipace a anorexie. Užitím vhodných postupů a změnou strategie příjmu potravy u onkologicky nemocných se nám daří tyto nežádoucí projevy potlačit, čímž významně snižujeme riziko výskytu malnutrice u těchto nemocných se všemi nežádoucími doprovodnými účinky.
