Vaginální aplikace léčiv - nové směry

Klasické lékové formy jsou postupně doplňovány lékovými formami vyšších generací umožňujícími řízené uvolňování léčiva. Moderní vaginální lékové formy mohou obsahovat léčiva se systémovým i lokálním účinkem. Na farmaceutickém trhu jsou již k dispozici kontracepční a suplementační vaginální kroužky (NuvaRing®, Progering®, Estring®, Femring®) a vaginální inzert (Cervidil®/Propess®). U řady dalších vaginálních kroužků (Nestorone®, aj.) a insertů (MisopessTM, C-VadTM ) probíhají v současné době klinické zkoušky. Ke zvýšení biologické dostupnosti léčiva slouží řada převážně polotuhých mukoadhezivních lékových forem (Crinone® aj.). V České republice jsou z uvedených vaginálních přípravků dostupné pouze vaginální inzert Propess® (PG E2) a mukoadhezivní vaginální gel Crinone® (progesteron). Novou skupinou léčiv pro vaginální aplikaci jsou mikrobicidy.
