Terapeutické účinky Silybum marianum

Silybum marianum (Ostropestřec mariánský) a jeho extrakt představuje v současné době velmi vhodné léčivo k léčbě celé řady jaterních chorob. Článek se zaměřuje na přehled terapeutických účinků Silybum marianum, zejména na jeho hepatoprotektivní aktivitu, potvrzenou celou řadou klinických studií, včetně předpokládaného mechanizmu působení. Hepatoprotektivní aktivita je přisuzována skupině flavonolignanů komplexně nazývaných silymarin.
