Léčba kůže a sliznice při infekci virem herpes simplex

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) je dvojvláknový DNA virus patřící do čeledi herpetických virů, které dokáží přetrvávat v latentním stadiu v senzorických nervových gangliích. Vznik primární infekce je dán přímým kontaktem s aktivními kožními projevy herpetické infekce nebo sekrety infikovaných jedinců. Po inokulaci a minimální lokální replikaci se virus dostává podél senzorických nervových vláken do senzorických nervových ganglií (latentní stadium), ze kterých se po replikaci herpetické virové partikule dostávají podél senzorických nervových vláken zpět do kůže a sliznic. Latentní stadium může trvat měsíce až roky, aktivace HSV se děje podněty jako je oslunění, traumata, stres, menstruace apod.
