Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive, irreversible optic neuropathy. Glaucoma management involves conservative, laser, and surgical
treatment: Conservative treatment consists in using eye drops containing antiglaucoma agents on a regular daily basis. These include
prostaglandin analogues and prostamide, beta blockers, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, alpha-2 agonists, parasympathomimetics, their
fixed combinations, and hyperosmotic agents. The main goal of glaucoma treatment is to preserve sufficient visual function while minimizing
the impact on the quality of life of patients.
