Glaucoma surgery

Glaucoma surgery can be divided into laser, incisional and cyclodestructive. The main goal of glaucoma surgery is to reduce intraocular

pressure, the most important risk factor for manifestation and progression of glaucoma. Glaucoma surgery should be indicated when target

pressure have not been achieved by medical therapy, visual field or retinal nerve fibre layer loss have increased, or disc cupping have

changed. Intolerance of all medical therapy and noncompliance are also suitable for glaucoma surgery.
