What is new in pediatric diabetology?

Research in pediatric diabetology brings some news useful in clinical practice. That includes wilder use of insulin analogues, flexibleinsulin dosing system according to the needs of pediatric patients, the possibility of continuous glucose monitoring connected to theinsulin pump and changing in some dietary recommendations. This article summarizes the current realistic treatment options for pediatricpatients with diabetes in the Czech Republic.

Melatonine is hydroxyindole derivative. It acts as chronobiotikum influences circadian rhythms organism mediated by binding to specificreceptors. It is characterized by a number of other effects. Overview summarizes current knowledge about his work and the possibilitiesof its use in various states of the organism.

Diabetic patient in community pharmacy – can we solve his problems?

There are many barriers in the community pharmacy that hinder identifying of drug-related problem, e. g. lack of informations aboutpatient or lack of time. In the presented case report it was possible to identify the reason for poor diabetes control through appropriatecommunication with the patient during dispensing drugs.
