Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia, however, the treatment AD options are limited and based on administrationof cholinesterase inhibitors and/or memantine, affecting glutamatergic system. Presented review article summarizes current approaches in theresearch of novel agents for AD treatment; it is focused on the molecules reaching the clinical trials. The most developed direction of pharmacotherapyis focused on pathologic β-amyloid (Aβ). Several perspective studies testing monoclonal Aβ antibodies and β-secretase inhibitors are ongoing. Rational use of psychotropic drugs in oncology – selected indications, interactions, tips for practice

Indications psychotropic drugs in oncology include also chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, delirium, nausea, emesis and affect appetite. Psychotropicdrugs are often used "off label" and should be used in patients to attention. Levels of some of psychotropic drugs may be affected by a number of concomitantly administered drugs due to pharmacokinetic drug interactions. Dexamethasone, phenytoin, and carbamazepineare often the co-medication with the above-mentioned indications, among the important enzyme inducers and may reduce the effect ofpsychotropic drugs. Combinations of psychotropics potentially increased risk of pharmacodynamic drug interactions.

Drug-related problems connected with falls are one of the main problems of morbidity and mortality in geriatric patients.
