Persons at risk for diabetes mellitus in the pharmacy

The high prevalence of diabetes mellitus, substantial costs associated with treatment of late complications of this disease and still

a considerable proportion of persons who fail to be timely or properly treated, offer possibilities for pharmacists involvement in diabetes

care. This report aims to specify the measures and procedures used in the early detection of diabetes mellitus with an emphasis on the

possible involvement of the pharmacists.
